Bass goals for 2023

My goals:
1. Selling both 34" scale basses (I have 2-34", 2-32" and 2-30" scale basses)
2. Focus on using a pick
3. Fine tune slap technique
4. Gig more than 2-3 times a month
5. ONLY buy needed gear (avoid GAS)
6. Remember that not everyone in the band is as driven as me, and not let it be a deterrent!
7. Continue to focus on 3-part harmonies in my classic rock cover band!

My honest goal is to not overthink and worry about it. I love playing bass but I overthink and let anxiety get to me if I miss a day of practice, so my goal is to practice and have fun and whatever happens in life to keep going with it. I'm never gonna probably be a rockstar or in a top know jazz group on upright but one day I'll get there to just have fun and play with good musicians who also want to have fun, and a more focus goal is to get better at jamming and I been having fun doing that now!
Amen on that !! I never use that word.To sell some gear and keep it simple. My practice room looks like a music store.
It’s not that I’ve bought a bunch all at once, took years. I rarely sell anything anymore. Not willing to take a beating from buyers , selling platforms or shipping companies.

1. Play more of "MY" music with the band I am in now.
2. Play my bass vi for at least one song in a live situation
3. Buy and play a double neck 6/4 during Q1 of the new year
3. Get back to work on my acoustic songs.
Edit to add: In an attempt to replace my very heavy Eden rig I went the Fender Rumble route...NOPE. Then the Mesa Boogie route...SW 210 and 115 with a TT800. To me the TT800 is too much in options for my simple brain. So I am powering the 210 & 115 with an Eden WT400, which sounds great. But in 2023 I will go back to the TT800 and figure that monster out. Something tells me it's not really that hard.

My goal for 2023 is to record something every day. I got a refurbished MacBook just for GarageBand and I haven’t used it enough. And as of right now, I don’t have to work until 2025 unless I feel like it. 
After 2 years off to finish grad school, my goal is to get back in a band and play some shows
Sell some gear and work on reading & improvising.
Gigs are very rare right now so that is not on the list.

Recover from surgery and finally start playing again.
- Replace the fretless. I have loved mine since '99 and kept good care of it, but it was cheap to begin with, and stands out as the entry-level hunkajunk among the rest of my basses, so depending on tax refund or bonuses or whatever, I'm ready to make the move.
- Do something with all those backing tracks I've hoarded over the years.
- Improve at mixing/mastering. I'm a Presonus Studio One user and I feel like I've only scratched the tip of the iceberg of what it can do.
- And of course, as it's been for 30+ years, work on timing.
1) Continue to learn about jazz playing, and try to get at least somewhat proficient with my new F Bass fretless AC5.

Im not really the "new years resolution" type, however the start of a new year is a good time to at least plan some high level goals or milestones. For me its probably:
- Sticking to a regular practice schedule
- Defining how much I want to gig and with what project.

On DB - recommit myself to studying jazz. Make one good quality transcription a month of a standard I don’t know to add to my repertoire.
On BG - branch out to styles and genres I don’t feel I am strong with to shore up weak links in my musicianship. Learn a few key tunes in those styles, and learn them well. Reggae comes to mind first.
