So if you HAD to play a double neck bass & guitar-(For this the bass can be whatever number of strings you like-and fretted or fretless, etc)
Would you prefer the bass be the higher neck physically or the lower one?
I ask this because most double necks with bass & guitar that I see seem to be with the bass higher physically.
maybe they saw Jimmy Page & Bill Wyman and figured it made sense?

So what would your preference be--or maybe it wouldn't really matter which it was.

If you wouldn't play it either way--well, there is no option for you--sorry.
Maybe next time.

Not something I've ever thought about before, but my answer didn't take more than a couple seconds to figure out.
I voted for guitar neck above the bass neck. I play my guitars pretty high, and my bass at belt buckle level.
That was my choice as well--I don't wear my guitar that high--but I don't like it down at my knees--it's a bit lower than where it would be when I am sitting, and I wear my bass a bit lower than that.
Having the bass neck higher feels awkward (Yes I've played double necks with bass & guitar before--but never owned one--I once tried to talk a friend into getting one so we could switch between bass & guitar in a song and get a drummer & start a band He didn't go for it.)

Everyone’s going to have their own preference but to me it depends on what your focus is. I’m a bass player that might be occasionally required to strum out some simple guitar parts on a song so I prefer the bass on top. If my priorities were reversed then my necks probably would be too.

When I was in high school, a bandmate had a 70s Ibanez 2404 Bass/guitar double neck. It was a white SG/EB3 looking thing. The bass was on top. Seemed to work fine that way. I wonder how it would balance had the guitar been on top?

Just saying what song would have multiple bass parts?
Awaken - Yes. (live, of course)

CS played a triple neck Wal and used each neck throughout the song.

Here's what I'd want, something like this:
