OK. Here's one that on first thought may not be so obvious....

Crowded House.

I am a HUGE admirer of CH bassist Nick Seymor. So many song have lead VOX Neil Finn's deceptively cool guitar and some of the sweetest harmonies this side of Supertramp, but Seymor's bass is almost always right out in front. Even on their biggest hit "Don't Dream It's Over", it starts with that really nice bass lick. Find the track "can't Carry On", or maybe "Never Be The Same" or "Lowlands"> God... Such fine bassing on so much of their stuff!
