bass identification question

I recently finished watching the new Keith Urban DVD "Love, Pain & the whole crazy World Tour". I thought it was an excellent production with great musicians.

One of my favorite musicians and BG singers in general is Chris Rodriguez, who is playing for Keith on this tour. On a song called Shine, he switches to the bass and I'm wondering what it is...it's the candy apple red bass with the odd shaped pickguard. I figured someone here would quickly know the answer.

The bass looks kind of like a big Jaguar to me but that's not right. It's something vintage probably knowing what else is being used on that tour. Those guys are gear freaks. Keith can afford it!

I'm looking for a clip that isn't focused on Keith's face the whole time!

This is a bad clip but you can see it's shape on the big screen and also when the camera moves around the fat head in front of it!

The control plate is not shiny in the video, which makes the pickguard seem a different shape overall, but I'm betting either it's a trick of the light, or he's got a black control plate on there, something like that.

Huh...I kept talking myself out of it being a Jaguar because I wasn't sure about the pickguard as you said. Thanks for the look see.

Check out the DVD if you get a chance. It's a great show and it's only like $10 at Wal-Mart. The musicianship is above average for a pro-tour.
