"Swingtown" comes to mind..I believe the trick is to see how efficiently I can play a boring song by keeping the syncopation and groove perfect without adding unnecessary filler notes. Perhaps the song highlights the vocals or guitar solo and its my job to be a team player and support their time to shine..Out of a 35 song set list, one would be lucky to have fun playing just 10 songs..

play what you like. f* "what the song needs". goal #1 is to have fun no matter how simple or complex a song is. if you're not having fun then why do it?
