I agree that pure white is way too bright. I usually opt for the color they call parchment. And that pickguard is definitely not parchment. I’ve also had good luck with cream… or some variation of “aged” or “antique” white pickguards.

Yeah, that’s 100% white. You sure that whoever you bought it from didn’t send you the wrong color by mistake?

I agree with the posts above – something off-white. I took my tuxedo bass and got rid of the original stark white pickguard. This was some form of cream or off-white that I thought was much classier.

I would return what they sent you, and get what you really want. Your eye is not lying.

That pickguard looks great and it will probably darken a bit over time. If it bothers you that much, swap it for parchment but that gets to be subjective when ordering online. See if you can go to a shop and compare shades of Precision guards if there is such a place near you. I hate the solid color guards wo the laminate stripe on the edge, personally. You could go back to the gold guard and put that white one in the sun for awhile. It will darken up.

it's not horrible but i'm not big on wht guards. This PJ is a "champagne pearl"..Gold anodized is a bit too yellow for this color, so i found a bronze one and it matches the paint pretty good....White pearl or aged pearl would also look great i think.

Just one guy’s opinion, but an aged white pearl guard would look really good against that gold body. The aged white pearl has light brownish shading in it that would be a very close match to your gold body.

I had a parchment pickguard on a tele that I thought was white too until I held a white piece of paper next to it. I eventually fitted a black one though.

So my Shoreline Gold partscaster has been sporting a Pau Ferro FB and a gold anodized guard, but I recently acquired a 2003 Highway One precision neck and decided to swap them, and to go with a parchment pickguard. The neck looks great, but the pickguard is WHIIIIITTTEEEE!!! I’m pretty disappointed in the look. Should I try to age it, or just throw it in the parts bin?

Would a (not too greenish) mint pickguard get me there? The Fender pure vintage mint is on my radar at the moment. But I didn’t want to spend the cash, and ordered the “parchment” musiclilly $10 special instead
