There are 3 "red light districts" in Frankfurt. Brothels advertise on billboards and busses. Sex workers are regulated, and have excellent free health services. (as does everyone in Germany)

I don't know what the the laws are now, but back in '71 when I was stationed there, prostitution was legal in any city over 100,000 people. Nothing like sitting at an outdoor table at a gasthaus in the red light district and watching all of the gastarbeiter spend their week's earnings. They'd travel in groups and pick a lady, with each guy taking his turn and getting cheered when he came out, often in less than five minutes. It was a trip.

The things I used to see on flights was mind-boggling - almost entirely from passengers.
I was over 3 million miles when I quit working. Pretty much saw everything. The funniest was on an old 727 that had a lavatory door that opened out into First Class instead of toward the cockpit. A pilot came out, opened the unlocked lav door...and pulled a young lady out onto the floor while she was still peeing. Waving it and holding onto the door handle without locking the lav was a bad idea. She got up and locked herself in there until we landed. Those of us in front got a heck of a good laugh out of it. But we had to trudge to the back of the plane to use the john. :roflmao:

Funny story when I lived in germany I looked for a flat to buy, and one ad looked pretty much perfect, a whole building with 5 flats for a very decent price and location.
As I read the ad further down it turned out all the flats were sold occupied - by active sex workers, and apparently it was out of the question to throw one (or all) of them away from the place.

"For investors only" yeah right :)

An actual creation from a discarded bridge at my upright bass tech’s shop.

Very cool. One of my neighbors used to do quite a bit of glass art. He got most of his supplies at dollar stores. He gave us this piece; however, Mrs. Dadglasser got tired of it. She said it looked like a child did it. You can see his stuff all around the area.

I may create a club for folks who have children’s Art hanging up ‘round the house…despite the occasional eye-roll. ;)
