You've proved MY point — the world is a construct within our minds, ergo the visible light spectrum and the phenomenon of refraction cannot pre-date the existence of human beings because we weren't there to witness its existence or non-existence!
In case you missed it this week, the James Webb telescope just sent back pics of the SMACS 0723 galaxy, photons that have been travelling for 4.6 billion years, and some of the stuff in the background is more than 12 billion years old. Pre-dating human eyeballs by a bit ;)

You turned my avatar into a meme! Cool. I've never posted the original, hi-res version that includes the EXIF info and copyright of the photographer. It took me a LONG time to track down the original. The guy spent well over an hour observing that lizard before getting this shot.

I'm not sure what song he's playing, but since his bass only has one string, it's got to be an early Morphine song before Mark Sandman switched to two strings.
