I disagree.... particularly with Queen
what were Roger Taylor / Brian May and John Deacon going to do - retire?
Just because Freddie died it doesn't mean the other members of Queen should just cease playing Queen songs.... after all they helped write most of the songs with Freddie, so it's only fair that they be allowed to play the music that they helped to create
I've seen them with Adam Lambert and thought they sounded amazing....

Rush could replace Neil and continue.... sure it wouldn't be the same, but I see no reason why they can't continue..... whether they want to or not is a different story though

Geddy did a solo album "My Favorite Headache" in 2000, during a break in the Rush action.

I think being in ZZ Top gives you “over the top” license. :roflmao:. It’s all for the show. Yeah, it’s probably impractical as hell and definitely not me either. I only wish that Dusty was playing it. :(

Well, Deacon did retire.

No reason that the two that wanted to continue couldn't play Queen music. But without Freddy and Deacon, it just isn't Queen. In my mind, what they are now is probably the best Queen cover band. But they aren't Queen.

They can't replace Neil and still be Rush. Just as Geddy or Alex couldn't be replaced and still be Rush. There were rumours of a Lee Lifeson project and they admitted to doing some playing together, but insisted that it could never be Rush without Neil.

Really tough times. Neil lost his wife (cancer, I think) and only daughter (car accident) in less than a year. That's when he biked across Africa. Amazing that they got back together again. And then we lost Neil. So sad.

I first saw Rush in a club in Schaumburg, IL (B'ginnings) around New Year's Day '74-'75 (about 6 months after Neil joined the band) when they were touring Fly By Night. Been a fan ever since.

In the early '90s, before the web and forums, there were maillists. I was a long-time member of the National Midnight Star maillist run off a Univ. of Maryland server.
