As I tell all my students about tabs: "Those people can be just as wrong as you or I; even the 'Official' tabs, made by people the site actually staffs."
Thank you!! Finally someone who states it like it is. My fave Talkbass quote is: "Tabs are wrong." Sure, but only when they are. They can also be 100% accurate. Same with sheet music.
Nice. That doesn't seem too hard. It's funny you bring up "sheet music".
A million years ago (it seems), I had a Judas Priest song book, It was called: "Note-For-Note". I believe it was published by: "Cherry Lane (?) Music"
Every song in there was, indeed, note-for-note except one; (and unless you really hate hard rock, you should go listen to it) Delivering The Goods.
In that song, where the notes and tab for the instrumental should have appeared, there was an asterisk which read: "If you can play this lead, what do you need us for?"
I took that as no one at the music company being able to figure it out.
[EDIT] The heck with it. I'll find the song for ye:
That's like watching Chris Wolstenholme play Hysteria for the first time and thinking that I'd never be able to play that bassline all the way through without failing miserably at some point, and THEN see 11-year-old Ellen do it.Nice. That doesn't seem too hard.
More like five hard.![]()
