About a million years ago I had a band that gigged pretty regularly for a while. After you get to seeing enough familiar faces in the audience, it feels kind of wierd to do a straight introduction of the people in the band.
So we would make up somewhat grandiose names for each others jobs. For example Eric wasn't just the keyboard player. He was "the Chairman of the Boards". Yeah I now. It's lame. But we thought we were cool back then.
My nickname as the bassist was "Lord of the Low Frequencies". As the lyricist for the band, I was introduced occasionally as either "the Bard", or "the Bard of __________" with the blank part being wherever I lived at the time: 'the Bard of Arlington', 'the Bard of Burleson', etc... That's actually the original source of the nickname, Bardman, that eventually turned into my screenname here.
