Bass Northwest Closed. Now What?

BassNW was a great store, and I passed through there all the time when working the West coast. Bought my '79 P from Evan many years ago. Hope he gets well soon.

Chad is awesome; does great business with his online bass effects pedal store. Haven't been to his brick-n-mortar bass store yet, I'm sure it's pretty cool.

Another sad sign of the times and I too had some nice experiences there and the staff were always responsive and pleasant.

I visited BassNW in 2011 and we very impressed with the selection of basses and other bass equipment. I purchased my 1st SVT Classic from BassNW and was impressed by their customer service.

I even purchased a BassNW cap that I still wear from time-to-time. Its sad to see stores like this go out of business...

Just visited The Bass Shop Seattle yesterday for the first time. I've know Chad from the old Bass NW days and it's good to see that he has taken over where Bass NW left off. I was quite impressed on the selection of used basses he had to offer. At least 100 from Lull, Sadowsky, Musicman, Vintage Fenders and many more at all price points. Probably one of the most complete used collection I have found anywhere. Also a Bergantino and GK dealer. Not much in the way of accessories yet but he plans on ramping up as business improves. Nice to have a true bass store back in the hood.

His stock was pretty amazing, IMO. And he's also got one or two of the new Genzler cabs, as well.

Fortunately (for me) I live 12 minutes from Bass San Diego. It'd be worth the drive from Seattle.

What a drag! I bought a Mike Lull Jazz and Landing Synth bass from them. Missed out on a Brubaker exotic once (played it, decided to give it 24 hours to think about it, then it was sold next day...that was my second greatest "near miss" ever...1st was a Ritter on E-bay). Also missed out an a beautiful green Valenti they once had...also by a day! Wonderful shop and nice employees, informative, attentive, and not ever pushy. I visited yearly for about 12 years on trips from Austin. After Bass Emporium (THUMBS UP!!!) closed in Austin a few years ago, Bass Northwest was the only other place I went where I could be surrounded by fantastic basses of such great variety and get to play them. Too bad that the current economic situation makes it such a challenge for brick and mortar businesses. Not fair! Guess I might need to find an excuse to visit Atlanta or somewhere in Florida, but Seattle had it best when it had Bass Northwest.
