Bass output AND line-out into VT Bass?

VT Bass, Putnam-modified with headphone driver; want to practice with passive bass with music on iPod through headphones. :eyebrow:

So, how can I combine the line-out from the iPod with my passive bass signal into the VTBass so I can listen through headphones?

The reason for this is so that I can bring a minimal rig to practice with. If my description is inadequate, just let me know.

I may have to submit this under several different subjects until somebody both recognizes and understands what I am trying to do.

That way you can leave the music unaffected by the pedal.

Thanks BS, I appreciate your thoughtful feedback.

I neglected to mention a couple of other important Putnam mods that may impact this.

It also has, instead of the stock "gain" knob, it has separate "wet" and "dry" gain knobs. Or in other words separate knobs to blend the affected and unaffected tone. So, I can crank up the "dry" or "unaffected" gain so that the recorded music doesn't get distorted.

My main goal is to plug both my bass and my iPod into just the VTBass and practice with my headphones using the built-in headphone driver. Minimal signal chain, minimum gear.

Thanks and keep the suggestions coming, please.

Hi Folks,

I HAVE to share this: The Ampridge Jam Cable is EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY the dingus I was looking for. It's so cool that I'm going to post it again here and on FB.

I just received it from JR Music World, tried it out and it works exactly as they say it should. Awesome!

The mp3 player and passive axe come in perfectly balanced, sounding as they normally do. No batteries, no wall-wart. it takes up 0 space in a gig bag and even less space in your thinking. How cool is that?!?

I tried every combination of cables and "Y's" to get this but the Ampridge Model IA-303 Jam Cable is the only thing to succeed. It's available from a variety of sources, but I found the best price at JR Music World.
