Thank you for the comment. I believe the wood floor does wonders for the image. Yes, I shot the bass to the left of center to be able to place copy or the MTD logo on the page.

I saw your pictures and I think what you do with an other wise normal looking P bass is sheer artistry. You can almost "see" the sweat and dirt of a 50 yr. old gigging workhorse but I especially liked the Red Slab bass with the pinstripe design.

Most people who photograph their basses for this thread are basically trying to 'show-off' (in a good way ;)) their beloved instruments. In my case, I was just experimenting with my new 'shoot-thru' umbrella and a bunch of old basses :hmm:.

Anyway, they're still basses and it's still photography ;) ...

Yeah, the colors of the bass and the wood floor are absolutely perfect together - very warm and inviting.


I appreciate the kind words !

I love old basses and guitars, and I hope that it shows in the things I've built.
