There's a TB Member selling his Yamaha BB415 in the Classifieds (exactly the same model and color as mine...without mods) and you can check how I converted mine in my Conversion thread. It was about a $180 upgrade and my time. So you could have a bass like this one for less than $500.
Of course that's not including the onboard wireless or the dual pickup volume controls in place of the pup selector switch.

I missed that. Dang: that's cool mate
Yeah, seeing how it's my only bass it made sense for me to just put it in the bass. No more hassles with the transmitter pack. Flip a switch on the face of the bass and I'm ready to play.
Of course, I actually have four basses in one with this. One 4 string (EADG) and two 5 string basses (one BEADG and one EADGC) and one 6 string, so I only need the one.

It's a Samson wireless with the circuitry removed from the case (although the circuit boards in most wireless transmitters are pretty small without the case that holds them). I attached a battery box and wired up an on/off switch to the battery which is the switch on the body face next to the volume controls.
I routed out a cavity next to the control cavity. The green coated wires run through a hole from the wireless cavity to the control cavity where it gets wired to the + and - of the input jack allowing me to use it wireless or with a cable. Here's a pic of it in the bass...
