Ooo thanks for posting this. I remember getting this article when I was a teenager, and then wishing I hadn't thrown it out years later.

Interestingly, I find myself disagreeing with the sound assessments of many of these. Just goes to show you, people aren't very good at accurately describing frequency bands that they hear (myself included).

Yep---my EB Slinky's sound one way on my Carvin fretless (mid-ish) , and completely different on any one of my Fenders ( bass heavy).
