Although these are fairly well known bands, the players didn't get much recognition for their contributions, and so you may consider adding them to your list.

Didn't know that. Thanks. Another bassist to check out is Etric Lyons. He is/was in a band called Kush, but the project I was impressed most with is his work on Zappacosta's 1995 CD "Innocence Ballet". Fantastic playing and the best tone I've heard in a long time.

Ron Wood, back in the Jeff Beck - Truth era

I think Wood’s tenure with Beck(with Rod fronting)is fairly well known. Both of those albums are landmark/seminal. I certainly got a lot out of them, and for aspiring players ‘of a certain age’, they went right along with Cream and Hendrix albums as far as inspiration, well before Zeppelin came about. There’s the argument to be made that “Truth” was the blueprint for Zep.
