I was watching this video about self pollinating or hand pollinating tomatoes and 2 of the 5 techniques mentioned are (each video starts at correct timing): - rapid finger movement against the flower to shake pollen onto the stigma - playing an instrument for your plants to help vibrate the pollen off the stamen into the stigma Clearly, we bass players are ideally suited for these, so until more of my gigs return, I will be hiring myself out for tomato plant pollination duties. No I will not accept resultant tomatoes as a form of payment.
Plants like Jazz, had a Buddy whose Dad always had a radio playing the "Smooth Jazz" Station in his greenhouse. Said he noticed a big difference.
Had a friend do the same (greenhouse/indoor). I've read studies that seemed legit and proved growth. I personally play Beatles/Aphex Twin when gardening. Just in case. Also you can put plastic bags around the male parts to collect pollen and use a frozen bee on a stick to pollinate. Little more work but successful method. Rock on and happy growing! Got plenty of months left. EDIT: Are there any plants I should not post pics of?
What happens when the bee starts to thaw? Surely there is a fine brush of some sort to mimic the behaviour. Frozen bees...
A bit. The playlist was selected by the local Community College radio station so they got a good mix as well as a history/music lesson, not just the tunes.
Why not? I love tomatoes! Btw I have real tomatoes (plants) and I trust the bumble bees to take care for them. Luckily we (still) have a lot of them where I live. greetings Wise(b)ass
If you thought murder hornets were bad just wait on the white walker bees. Actually I don't know. Only used that method in bio lab, but it worked well. Genetics experiments begin this fall/winter, so I may be in the "pre-frozen bee" market. It's like the boutique pedal version of q-tips.
It's not a question on the morality of bees is it. A frozen shrew would serve the coverage of no less than five bees, and, comes with a handle.
