Bass Poweramps

the thing is, "bass poweramps" are perfectly suitable for pa applications, and "pa poweramps" are perfectly suitable for bass.

I am intrigued by some of the smaller mono poweramps coming out, but mostly for size weight reasons.

The ones I've used do sound different though. The "bass amp power amps" usually have a bump in the mids and have some stylization to the tone vs. a totally flat PA amp. I've had great results in the past with the Eden WT1000. Its a very stout, fat, slightly furry sounding amp and often yields a warmer final tone than a PA amp does. Really depends on the cab which one is going to work better.

Not to sound rude, but how exactly do you define "furriness" with regards to the Eden amplifier's tone?

If my amp ever sounded like how I would think of a "furry" tone I'd be sending it in for repairs.

Its a subtle thing, but if you A/B (for example) an Alembic/QSC rack rig against an Eden head, you'll hear what I mean right away. You could call it growly or warm or a little gritty -- but I think "furry" says it best. SVTs are like that too, its not a bad thing.
