Bass recommendation.

Exams are over, so I gathered some money and it's time to buy a new bass. I play metal (thrash and death to be exact) and here are some basses I have in mind. I'll be glad to hear your suggestions and advice.
One choise is this Spector Performer 5 Classic:

I have a lot in mind, but with these two examples you can see how much money I'm willing to pay.

If I'm not wrong, there's a sticky somewhere recommending the Peavey Scorpio bass for metal, and once again, if I recall correctly, its pretty cheap on ebay too. Best of luck.

I made a thread about the corvette $$ rockbass and asking people if they are any good since there are almost no reviews on them. I wanted people to tell me that they were decent because they are pretty cheap and look so bomb and I wanted the warwick look and sound. But the overwhelming response told me it was a pretty bad bass and to save up for a german corvette. And that is what I am going to do. I am still going to hit up a GC and try both out to see if I may personally like it, but I don't expect that to be the case. Here is a link to the thread if you want:

I also play metal/deathcore and so I was pretty much on the same boat as you. I also don't know much about Spectors so i can't help you on that. But the german corvettes are awesome. So I would suggest just to save up for one.

Id do ESP ltd F or B series, Ibanez Sr series, or BC Rich nt series myself in that price range. The BC Rich's mostly uses P pups neck and bridge set, the ESP Ltd & ibanez uses soapbar pups. Both have active eq preamp. The Ibanez & Esp letd have 3 band, while the BC Rich have 2band eq. The BC Richs have little bit chunkier necks as well if you prefer that.
