BASS RELATED TATTOOS

I have a bunch of tattoos (7 or 8) and none of them are bass related.
I am thinking of getting a bass clef somewhere, but havn't got around to it.

Have a stiff drink first (Scotch, perhaps?). It's a painful spot - didn't stop bleeding for nearly 3 days.

please people DO NOT drink ANY alcohol before getting any work done
a,, it does thin the blood
b,, most all of the artists ( pro's that i know anyways, as i have MANY hours in the chair ) will refuse to work on you if you've been drinking
c,, don't take any aspirin, & most pain killers, as it also thins the blood
d,, don't complain that it's painful or that it hurts,,, just man up,, suck it up & do the deed

FIND A NEW PLACE FOR YOUR ART.
Once someone has done a poor job, don't go back, don't keep going and certainly don't get into it with the same people only to get more work done.
Walk out the door and find someone you can trust who does quality work and does it right.
Also, one should never bargain shop for a tattoo. Ever. Ever. You have it for life, spend the $ to get it done right the first time.

I went to school with this guy. Good guy and a great bass player. Perfect tattoo for him.

I think its awesome, intentional or not I know I reckon the way it is makes it look like shes lost control over the bass

What do you guys think about this as a tattoo? I was thinking of getting this on my right shoulder, or top right of my back.
I need to find a professional artist though, I definitely don't want this screwed up. One mistake can shift the balance from epic to fail.

I've always thought of tattooing as a cross between working with oils and working with an airbrush. The amount of detail and accuracy is directly related to the size of the work. A huge bass tattoo that covers the length of your back could likely give a very good representation of whatever bass you like. If you want a pinup on the outside of your calf, you don't even have room for strings.
The Jamerson one, I think, is more about keeping to the style of the image, by abstracting the bass.
