My goal is to have a “no gear year” and not acquire any new bass gear. I’ll also continue downsizing my current collection. The whole idea is less gear, more playing.

My body is failing -big time. I don’t have much time left.
There is no possible chance that I could ever return to the stage. It’s a horrible feeling.
But, just to keep me sane, I like to think of what I would like to do, and I try as best I can to do it at home.
My vision is a band that rocks hard with a female front. Sure, think Heart, yeah been done.

I was in New Orleans about 20 years ago and saw a band with a bunch of old guys on guitar and bass and a younger (20s) female singing. It worked! The bassist was probably 65+ years old but he had a bandana on, and looked like a biker. He still looked like he could crush a full unopened beer can flat if he wanted.

The whole band had a unique look. The girl singer was too young to have grown up with the songs she was singing but it did not matter. The bassist could’ve been in a wheelchair - it didn’t matter because he looked fearless.

Just some perspective. Man, that was a great group! I totally understand that idea.
