lol...I gave up on this thread when there were no more criticisms against "The Best Bass" thread.
I play metal and I can't stand Warwick.

I play a 2004 LTD Corvette FNA Jazzman and I absolutely love it. The tone options are insane. I think there is truth to saying that Warwick is associated with metal. I first was turned on after my first major concert experience at the Summer Sanitarium Tour in Denver 2003. Ryan from the band Mudvayne had the most incredible tone. From that moment on I was obsessed with Warwick. I can almost always identify a Warwick in a recording. Now it's worth noting here that I don't play a lot of metal although I used to. My ONLY criticism of Warwick is that they tend to be a little top heavy. I had strap locks installed so that I can pull up the neck when necessary and not have to worry about it ever falling of. The initial strap pegs were much better than anything else I've seen stock. But I didn't want to take any chances.

I play a Fender MIM Deluxe Jazz and a Fender Mike Dirnt P-bass. I like the playability and tone of both basses. I'm older and sometimes playing a lighter weight bass would be good for my back.
I tried a Rogue violin bass at a local music store recently. I wanted to try the Hofner Icon, but the didn't get them in stock yet. The Rogue looked pretty decent. No major flaws or blemishes, and the fretwork seemed ok too (no sharp ends). I noticed the neck was very light feeling and it vibrated too much. The bass seemed to be too lightweight keeping the body from being steady.
I'll be testing the Hofner Icon and possibly the Contemporary Series one in the future. It will be interesting to compare the weight of the Hofner Entry level basses against the Rogue.
