BASS SAFARI in NYC?

It just occurred to me, I visted a really cool shop in Manhattan about 3 years ago. Lower east side? Kinda near chinatown. I could be wrong. Lots of reverends and jazzes, lots of used stuff. open late too. Ring a bell? I cant remember the name for the life of me.
The Groove Shoppe also seems to be located in Brooklyn, NY. I'd love to go to that store, lots of nice gear; depending on what I've read so far on TB, David and Joel seem to be cool guys to deal with.
I think they are just a mail order/web site? I can only find a PObox for them. Any locals wanna chime in? And feel free to post reccomendations for falafel, pizza and knishes. Last time I was there I ate out for every meal and never ate at the same place twice, except for the falafel cart by my sisters place in Queens. Which brings another question to mind, why are all these places in Brooklyn or Manhattan? Nothing in the Bronx or Queens?Lenart said:
Hmmm... you might want to check out Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island. They have a small selection of basses, but some interesting stuff. Also interesting is their ridiculous selection of awesome guitars.

I think that might be it, I remember looking at a reverend in the window and trying to draw a parallel with the name on the door. Then the dudes buzzed me in, and it was like 7pm? I think it was rivington or revington, something like Reverned! I was really stoked on the sound of the reverend. Sounds way better than you would think for the dano-esque construction. Ratners was a famous dairy restaurant. 2nd av Deli was a Jewish deli with sandwiches the size of a Yugo. I think you'll still be able to find a knish on Houston St.

yeah, at least for the major metropolitan area. I am a gear head among my friends, most of them that I know just get a bass wherever and live with it. Most have no idea where a store is besides GC and 1 or 2 others.Captain Chaos said:This thread is kinda cool
