Bass shops in London (UK)

Hi Guys,

I'm going to be in London next weekend for the FA cup semi-final which is on the Sunday leaving us the Saturday free, any of you guys point me in the direction of some good shops to visit? Im sure I read on here before that there are some music shops catering for bassists down there....

The only shop to go to is The Bass Gallery, [since the Bass Centre went mail order only]. It is in Camden Town on the Northern Line, if you know the tube at all. The link is http://www.thebassgallery.com The site will show you everything and it isn't a million mile away from Wembley:hyper:

I suppose if you want other shops then there is Denmark Street but I personally dislike the place.

Sorry for the breif post but the best bass shop in London is the Gallery http://www.thebassgallery.com/.
It's up in Camden and a wonderful place to go and hang out (and drool).

There are a bunch of shops on Denmark street but I have only really found a couple of interesting basses there and the shops tend to want you to buy or leave.

Also, you could always check out the Bass Centre www.basscentre.com/ but it is more of a bass supermarket to the Gallery's boutique.

As far as Denmark Street in concerned there's vintage and rare guitars, not too many basses but everything that's in their is lovely old stuff (Old Fenders, Gibsons, Music Mans etc.) and the staff are the nicest I've ever met in any guitar shop. They're perfectly happy for you to paly any instrument you want without intend of buying.

OT Well, I'm planning to sell my Sei (when I can bring myself to let go of it)... I hope you weren't planning to lose yours any time soon? /OT

I'm sure that there will be a couple of Sei basses in stock at the Gallery if you head over there Alec and you can see if you like them as much as us!

Also, the Gallery gets so many esoteric but great basses in that there is always a gem hidden behind the F Bass/Foderas in the cramped rooms.

Hank's is on Denmark street (I think that is what it is called) and had a very nice 60s Jazz in a few months ago (for a large sum of money) but it was beautiful.
