Bass Sound on Olivia Dean - "Float"

Hi fellow TB'ers, how did bassist and MD Finn Zereino-Birchall create this amazing bass sound on Olivia Dean's song "Float". School me please.

I hear a heavily damped bass played with a pick and perhaps a mic'd bass amp. If I was after that tone would likely put a foam or rubber mute under the strings as well as palm muting, perhaps even a felt pick and deftly mix a direct signal with a B15 type amp or sim.

Her live bassist plays thumb mute, maybe its him but I couldn't find a name. Twenty years on, you can still hear what a huge influence Amy Winehouse was on a lot of female singers.

Here is another view of her bassist's thumb muting, he sounds great and might have been the cat on Float. I really like Olivia's music with a real bassist over keyboard bass much better.

One of my favorite Olivia Dean songs to play. So good. Neo-Soul music lives!
