I found this resource online while looking for short scale strings that are long enough for a string-through body. I found it very useful:

I know I could just order medium scale strings, but good luck finding round wound 5-string medium scale sets.

DR's "short scale" is 33.75" in winding length (ball end to taper), which actually qualifies as "medium scale" according to most other manufacturers' specs.

Both the Hi Beams (SS rounds) and the Sunbeams (NPS rounds) do come in a factory "short scale" 5-string set, 45-125 with 33.75" winding.

Stringjoy is a Nashville-based string maker who specializes in hex-core NPS roundwound strings, which can be customized in any way you want, including a "medium scale" 5-string set of any gauges you choose. By the way, their "medium scale" is 34.75" from ball end to taper.

Thanks! I'm replacing strings on a Brice HXB2-405 short scale, which can be tight with some short scale strings, having a string through body. I have a set of DR High Beams on the way.
