Bass string throwdown

state you favorite brand and model of the brand and state why you thing they are the best of all, like so:

DR Black Beauties 4string set
color looks good on any bass, playablity is amazing, far worth the price for the tone, lasts a long time, can take a beating, coating on strings makes playing on ANY bass better(epecialy after a coat of mr ducks ax wax):ninja:

D'Addario Chromes flatwounds. Currently installed on all three of my basses.

Pros: Smooth feel, smooth tone, sound EXCELLENT with a pick AND with fingers, G-string has plenty of beef (I hate tinny guitar strings on my bass)

Cons: Sticky and awkwardly bright when new, a little expensive. Both are non-issues, as they stay on my bass for long time :D

$50 strings to a guy who does 4-5 gig a month are not gonna work. boomers or d'addario's do the trick. I also like dunlops. $20 and under. d'addario chrome's flats, buy them once they last forever. I don't see paying what I'll make at the gig on strings. Its like those $85 cables the guy at the bar can't hear the diff.

TI Jazz Flats.

They sound like deadened rounds, but crystal clear and sweet. They are really nice feeling to my fingers, and the lower tension makes it a breeze to play and I never have to dig hard. They will also last through the Apocalypse.

Keep an eye out at www.stringsandbeyond.com for Dunlops. Every few months they have Dunlops buy one get one free. You can get 4 sets for $36 shipped! Can't beat $9 a set for Dunlops :)

Same here. By the way, wipe them down with lighter fluid before installing them and they will not feel sticky. ;)

Sadowsky Blue Label Stainless Steel. These strings are awesome!!! I was a die hard Ken Smith string fan for use on my Smith bass. The problem with the Smith strings is that eventhough they sound fantastic at first, they are dead in 2 weeks. I have been using the Sadowsky strings for over a month and they still sound great!!! They also feel great as well. I am definitely going to order more Sadowsky's and my string experiment is over as far as my Smith bass is concerned!!!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!
