Bass strings for drop A#

Hello, my band plays in drop A# (A# - F - A# - D#) and I would like to play in that tuning with my 4-string P bass and I would also like to know if it's possible to play in that tuning with .110-.55 gauge strings. I know it's a really low tuning but I would appreciate any answer! :)

I would play a set of dr drop tune strings for a five string heavy 135 with 115 95 75 55 then just trash the .55. Or order a set from just strings .com of singles in the dr low rider and get the smae gauges minus the .55. I play in "A" on a five and run a 145. low string with a hybrid of other guages to get the correct tension of the standard tuned correct guage string so that neck and intonation adjustments are minor at best . The .110 is too small a standard "b" is 125-130 and you want to go lower. If the low string is loose you will loose the real note and end up sounding like fieldy from korn nothing but clicking and a banging.

Yeah just get the biggest 5 string set you can find and don't use the top string.

Or better yet, go to Bass Strings Online where carries a bunch of singles and can even do custom sets with whatever gauges you want! Jason is the only guy I'll buy strings from, he will hook you up.

A 110-55 set will result in a very floppy low A# with poor tone, only the higher strings will be okay.
Don't waste your money buying a G string you won't use. Build a set of custom strings: 145 95 70 50 will have medium-light and equal tension strings. A 135 will also work for A#.
Or ... Circle K Strings sell 'drop tune' sets designed to have equal tension strings in a drop tuning (top load bridge only) Link Removed
