I think it would be nice if they added a knob to switch on/off and control threshold on the compressor. That being said, it did sound good with all of those different basses, and that bearded hipster is seriously groovy.

These things are certianly interesting. How practical is a 2x8 at 200 watts in a live setting though? I could push a Rumble 4x10 with this thing (although that's 500 watts RMS) just to get more air moving, but I'm curious how either set-up would work in a band setting.
I would think that with your 410 it should be loud enough for many band settings. Somebody posted a gig report on here where he used an ELf through a Schroeder 112 for 500-700 person gig and had no problems with stage volume.
I have been impressed with the Elf with bigger cabinets, but not with it on the TE 2x8. However after reading @tombowlus review of the TE 2x8 with the Quilter 800 I tried it again with a GK MBFusion 800 and a TC BH800. I gotta admit those cabs sound great with those heads, they seem to like a lot of power.
M.C. Escher is on the money. He did this design as well as the stair cases and a few others. Good eye there.
I was a Die Hard trace fan at one time, had the best gear that they ever made... but then Peavey really screwed up the design on my 1200 Trace head, and couldn't get it resolved, so I gave up... Still always have a place in my heart for them.
I'd buy one just to be able to use it with headphones and play while my girlfriend is trying to talk to me. That would easily be worth $200

I have a Trace Elliot V6 and a 600H. Will gladly compare my ELF when it arrives.
I still have a few of the old Trace Elliot pre amps. Trace was big to me because Steve Harris used them and that's why I started playing. Keep me posted on it.
Picked one up in the classifieds to use for home practice. I had a Markbass Nano 300 but it just wasn't WOWing me. Now the ELF definitely is WOWing me!! Love all the versatile tones it can create and how full it sounds through my Ashdown 110. I have a Quilter BB800 that I use with my band and for live shows so I certainly have a thing for small gear.
Here the little elf is powering my two cabs, and plenty enough power. If you zoom in you can see it on top of my effects rack.

Anyone would think that is a tuner with green lights sitting on your amp rack.
We played a benefit gig with another band who's bass player played a stingray into one and used a little cab that appeared to be a 1x10 that he had elevated about 3 feet high. He sounded great in the PA. I've been debating getting one for little stuff like messing around at home where my big Ampeg cabs are overkill or something super portable for backyard jams to play along with unplugged acoustic guitars for example. I'd probably tape or strap it to a small cab. I've seen a lot of class d heads that were heavier than the elf get accidentally dragged off of cabs at shows. And I typically don't use my wireless when doing the backyard type jamssoid be concerned about that.
Loop your cable around the cab handle. That's good practice regardless if it's a SVT you're using.
