Bass to amp problem

Hi, guys, first post/thread here:). I've got some questions to ask. Basically, when i play my fender jazz at home through a MXR bass DI and in to my home bass amp(EQ settings on amp at 12o'clock) i love the tone that comes out of it.
But when i take my bass and play it at this other place where the setup is that from my bass--->MXR XLR output--->probably the soundboard--->monitors,it sounds like crap, everything becomes muddy, and my bass starts to sound as if its 'quacking'. So for that night i played it through the MXR but with the effect turned off(basically using it as a normal DI) it sounded much better but still not the tone that i got at home, and when i play it without the DI effect on i basically lose 45% of my volume and so i was inaudible for the night.
Previously on my other bass this problem nvr happened,it only happened with my fender jazz.Any help?:(
Thanks y'all
