Bass tone being sucked after 20 seconds?

Ok, when I record clean bass I have no problems at all.

However, Im currently trying to record some effects bass (Distortion, Chorus etc) and after about 15 - 20 seconds into the recording the volume level dips and I lose all tone (Very mid sound left).

Im using adobe audition and I've tried recording through my amp (DI) and plugging my pedal board straight into the laptop.

This also happens with effects guitar.




Any ideas how to fix this problem as I really need to record some of my songs.

i had this problem no matter how i recorded any instrument, ive been told it was my sound card, so im just going to get a new one

I had one of the SoundBlaster cards that did this. Turns out if you have the anitfeedback activated it'll do this.
