Howdy folks. I gotta play Wanna Be Starting Something with a band, and i'd like to get that synthy kinda bass sound down, but don't know how to go about it.
Any ideas?
I have an envelope filter, a big muff and a jazz bass if that helps!!
Put the muff in front of the filter. Turn em both on and keep the frequency knob on the filter low and the resonance high so you get a big subby whomping sound. It won't sound like the record, but it will sound kinda synthy and will be fine for most any bar or club gig.
Sure. I've covered that tune with just fuzz and filter a whole bunch of times. Adjust the muff so you are getting a vol boost and a bit of grit but not overwhelming fuzz. It will make the filter easier to control
