thank-you for this. loving the track and the player ( he's also on LP " cold snap, " ) but something sounds peculiar in bars 12, 24, and 36. stopped there to write this. in the TAB, those cool little fills that set up the turnaround are not right. can't speak for the notation, haven't looked yet...No, it's mine

So, TABs and notation are are OK?thank-you for this. loving the track and the player ( he's also on LP " cold snap, " ) but something sounds peculiar in bars 12, 24, and 36. stopped there to write this. in the TAB, those cool little fills that set up the turnaround are not right. can't speak for the notation, haven't looked yet...
EDIT, a little later: oh, i looked at the notation and now i see things differently. serves me right for going straight to the tab.
yes! and thank-you again for the great site. So, TABs and notation are are OK?
"Be Ever Wonderful" (a 6/8 ballad, IIRC) from the same album is also very nice.
This was a bit of a challenge. If anyone feels like checking the chords. Not a 100% sure on some as voicings change on repeats and Verdine makes some unexpected note choicesNot found at basslessons.be![]()

Earth, wind & fire - Be ever wonderful | Bass Transcription | Verdine White
Yes, that first chord should be C/D. Accidentally switched those.Chris-
This is beautiful work.
8th bar...should the 1st chord be C/D?
The 2nd chord? D/E? Consistent with the C/D?
|C/D - - D/E - -|Am7/D - - - - -|
...but Bar 9 is Am7/D.
Larry Dunn, their keyboardist composed this. Phenomenal job, to say the least.
Personally, I usually prefer the Bm7/E voicing.
(Except in "All Blues". Definitely want to hear the Gm vs. Gm7).![]()
I like Mehldau, Grenadier and the composition (not so much Mehldau's solo), but at the moment I don't have time to transcribe 9 minutes of improvised music. But thank you for reminding me how much I like Mehldau's music, and who knows, maybe I will transcribe it some day.ChrisDev - would you be interested in transcribing the bass part for the tune "Holland" by the Brad Mehldau Trio?

Thanks for this! The last in my little tribute series
