Bass Transcriptions

Just can't get enough of this one. Good vibes from 2017!
Paramore - Hard Times | Justin Meldal-Johnsen

Randy Jackson's incredible bass line on 'Divine Emotions'.

That repetitive (almost, stubborn) bass line (with just a few different ornaments in cadences,) features (lots for the pop song) chromatic notes and other unusual harmonic "twists."
The song's harmonic progression is really simple.

Fmaj7 | Fmaj7 Am| G | Asus4/A |

But, the bass starts with clearly announced E - OK, it's Emin7:bassist: (wrong, WUTP) moving to G, but...

It's Fmaj7 with the "nebulous" root of F, chromatically moving to G.

We have a serious accent with the note of C with a simple G major chord, plus, that "blues-is" Bb with G major.

I think the bass-line perfectly "hides" that harmonic (trivial) simplicity of a pop song and makes it sound "unusual."

P.S. I wonder if the "skeleton" of the bass-line was offered by an arranger or it was solely Randy's idea.
