Bass VI Strings for E-C 5 String

I'm looking at getting the Ibanez AGB 205 and doing some work to getting close to Thundercat's tone without spending $7k. I have the EMG 40HZs ready to go and ready to do some drilling, but... I need strings. Thundercat's uses Labella Deep Talking Flats, but they're sold out anywhere I look. Since I'm doing E-C, would VI Flats be a bad thing? They're 26-96 vs 29-105, so lighter, but...

If I remember correctly, the Artcore 5-stringer is a short-scale bass that happens to (well, not really: it was designed in order to) use nominally long-scale strings.
String sets for the Fender/Squier VI are circa 35.5" long: at a glance - I don't own the bass - they might clear the nut, if only by a red curtain thread, but then again it might not.

Ibanez AGB205 uses long scale strings despite being a short scale bass. The stop tail bridge piece is positioned quite far from the intonation bridge piece thus Ibanez could put on long scale 37.1" winding length D'Addario strings.

Bass VI strings are somewhat 32.5-35.5" in winding length, so most likely the string speaking part length will not reach pass the nut. Not to mention the VI string ball ends are smaller than the usual bass guitar string ball ends and the string holes on the stop tail bridge were designed to accommodate thick strings, since Ibanez put on 055/.075/.090/.110/.145 as factory strings, thus there is possibility smaller ball ends will slip-thru the bridge string holes.
