As a long-time Digidesign/Avid devotee, I've learned that the easiest way to avoid mysterious latency headaches is to circumvent the whole A/D–D/A nightmare in the manner in which you accomplished with your VOX.I have an old Digidesign MBox2. Can I use that in the same manner as the Focusrite? I was thinking of hooking that up to see if I could do some recording with it anyway. But it's more stuff to plug in and run cables for. I just miss the simplicity of my previous platform. But I'm sure I'll get used to the new way.![]()
That could very well be the ticket. One of the best recorded bass tones I've ever achieved was accomplished by running a bass guitar through an analog mic preamp on an old Mackie mixer and then direct into the recorder.I've got a couple of mixers around here. I just might plug them in and have some fun recording with Audicity again if I can find some free drum loops and stuff.
