I think this may be the only safe place I can share this where folks will understand or...

A couple of friends, gym rats. hard core cyclists, way into backcountry skiing, rock climbing. Complete jock and jockette pairing of a couple had a melt down.. Something over the "what's for dinner kind of question..." small potato's but that's what camel's backs are for... so he stormed out all PO'd ... and his first act was to unfriend her on Strava... moderne reaction to an age old problem.. ;-)

They just got back from a 2 week Jackson Hole and Montana ski trip and no blood was spilled so I guess all is good... I just found his reaction priceless... You can't make this stuff up!

I guess our regular winter simply got added to yours...sorry about that but I had no part in it. I recycle ♻️

:D

Yeah, we had another foot or so on Sunday this week. We're approaching the 15 feet of snow mark.

But we're having an awesome winter bike season, so it's all good! This drop is like 6' with a 5' gap in the summer and a bit out of my comfort zone, but it's awesome right now...

looks like Fernie or Revelstoke back in the days when we still had winter

They're still getting lots of snow in Revelstoke but yeah, we haven't been getting normal winters for a few years now. We are slightly above average for snow but not even close to record snowfall.

The drop in the video I posted earlier makes an appearance at around 2:50 in this one. Can't see the gap between the landing bridge and the rock but it's there. But watch the whole thing because it's funny AF. :D

I got a new bike two weeks ago, just before the world started going totally crazy! Luckily I am still working and can afford it! Got a 41 mile ride in yesterday on a chilly March day. All the group rides and events I was planning on doing this spring have been canceled so it looks as if I will be riding solo for a while.

I rescued this 1965 Sears Spaceliner Deluxe from a barn near Cleveland a few years back. It was a rusty shell hanging on the wall, but the only thing I had to replace was the rear rim with a period correct one, a set of new whitewalls, and a modern comfortable seat. It took a lot of steel wool and elbow grease (and some dremil work) and after about 25 hours of cleaning, and oiling, it was ready to ride. Added the skull too. Got to love 60s chrome.
*the bike originally had a tank and a light, and collectors go a bit crazy trying to find those, but thankfully for my pocketbook, I prefer the look of the bike without them. Bike was designed by Viktor Schrekenghost, who was an artist and architect who had quite a resume including having a hand in designing the Ford Mustang.

The Aussie Shepherd (I think) endo at 3:30 is freaking EPIC! A friend of mine had a Lab mix that never really figured out how to be a decent trail dog. He used to get so far ahead and then run back and dart out in front of riders until the day that he ran back towards me on the landing transition of a pretty decent drop when I was past the point of no return and I landed on him (and subsequently crashed my guts out). Thankfully, neither of us was seriously hurt but after that he never, ever did it again. :D

Bought a new seat to match the tape, water bottle cage, and pedals...

My butt hurts just looking at that saddle. :D

Saw a couple mosquitos today.

No danger of seeing them here yet:

It's getting warm enough to make it too soft for riding late in the day but it's still freezing up overnight so it's delightfully fast hardpack in the mornings. I'm normally too busy to avail of it on weekdays, between getting the kids to school for 8:10 and going to work but since the schools are closed and I'm working from home, I've been able to take advantage of it. Proper social distancing in effect!

Very, very cool bike! And the skull is great—where did you pick it up? I've been looking for a skull for my motorcycle...
