That hairpin turn in the distance triggered me, lol. Got way to familiar with the grill of a truck down while I was heading up on a visit last year. Luckily no contact was made, but it was scary.Orange county

I'll point out that in the second pic, that's actually overlooking a highway, you just can't see it because of perspective. If I turned my camera around, you'd see my place. But it LOOKS majesticBefore:View attachment 4864412

Got the brakes working well enough to have gone through a test-ride without wiping out. I may have to take this on some trails further away from my place and see how it handles.
Total cost? $241.03 CAD.
I splurged on some parts, used some parts that were donated, fixed some parts that didn't work and liberated some parts from frames found in the vicinity of dumpsters. All in all, I'm not going to show off my trail riding skills, but I'll be darned if I'm not proud of making this into a working thing from starting off a couple years back.
I don't think this would constitute a "finished" state for this bike - I've already got ideas, but this will make a great summer ride to complement my commuter.
The new one looks beautiful! So , after 20 years of loyal service , I'm retiring my carbon road bike.
To those wondering if carbon bike lasts forever : not
Received its replacement
This one should outlast me ( I'm 56 )

I agree! TI has the feel of steel but without the added weight. Here's the new road bike , got the chance to try it only once before winter ( snowed yesterday )
Frame is a Kocmo , german made Ti frame.
Transfered parts from the old one , got to mount new wheels because of disk brake.
Love the feel of the Ti , my MTB is Ti also and I wanted wanted that for the next road bike.
I don't regret the move.

Wow that's nice. I love steel bikes but have no experience with Ti. Years ago, I really wanted a Seven but never came close to getting one. Ended up with a carbon Scattante. Here's the new road bike , got the chance to try it only once before winter ( snowed yesterday )

I've got something similar, maybe from around 2010. It's a pig on the road but it sure is fun on trails. I don't do anything hardcore at all; I'm too much of an old roadie. I can't remember the exact model, and it's way back in the storage shed so I can't get at it to see, right now.Kia ora all! Mountain biker from New Zealand here. I am a fan of Specialized bikes, and have had a few Stumpys and Enduros. Here's a pic of my 2017 Fattie:
