Basses with 2x2 headstock?

Planning on selling one of my basses. I would like to get one with a 2x2 headstock tuners layout. Always preferred les pauls for guitars, so that headstock style is appealing.

For ~$1k, looking for ideas of basses with this layout. My biggest hurdle is that i want passive electronics. Not averse to active, but i want great passive tone. Although not ideal, im willing to do the electronics if i find a great body and neck.

Here’s the ones ive found so far:
Ive tried ibanez sr line, though great, but string spacing is a bit tight. Dont have warwicks to try. Dont care for schecter. There is a washburn taurus that seems a good one, but considering it was ~$300 new, paying $600 seems crazy, its an option. I would tell you the 2 very expensive brands that are great examples of what I’m thinking about, but don’t want to distract from someone giving me ideas.

Thanks in advance. Have a good holiday!!!

A few come to mind:
*Bite: BITE Custom Bass Configurator
*Sandberg (Basic, Classic and Custom models have 2x2 headstocks, and you can pull up the volume knob to make them passive): Basses - Sandberg Guitars
*The early 80's Ibanez Roadstars are great (I own a few):

Roadstars (and the older Roadsters) can usually be picked up for between $500.00-$1,000.00 depending on model, condition, etc. My favorite is the RB620, which is the P-bass style pictured above. Very powerful pickups, very well built, nice necks (not too thick or too thin).

I think Italia basses look really cool, and are inexpensive, but I've never played one: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The Gretsch G2220 has 2+2 tuners and even looks vaguely Les Paul-ish. It's passive and has a 19mm string spacing. Being short-scale, it fits in some standard guitar bags. It may be too far under your budget, though.

Buy three? Different colors? Variety of strings?

I had one of these and I liked it except 2x2 tuners are much tougher for me to use due to arthritis.
Other than that, nice budget bass. Just beware of the alleged "may not be hum-bucker" debacle.
As usual, take with the appropriate gain of salt.

FWIW, according to date code (2011) mine had the non-hum-buckers, but I didn't notice hum or noise issues.
Bought used though. Previous owner mentioned upgrades... tuners, flats, but don't recall him mentioning the pickups.

Derail? Just FWIW.. Let's keep things focused on the OP's inquiries.

The G2220 has single-coils.
