Basses with magnetic and piezo pickups?

Just wondering what is out there in terms of basses that have both magnetic and piezo pickups.

Bonus points if it is still in production.

Extra bonus points for a 5 string.

If it is a 5er, short scale and is still in production... you win the internet ;)

Aw Rats brother@JACink it seems both I would recommend are OOP :crying:

I knew my Peavey B-Quad was long discontinued but just found out so is my Tune TWB4-Z :jawdrop:

Both were long scale anyway

Look for an Ibanez Ergodyne, they did 5 string models. Sold mine to a Death Metal fella :)

i played a 5 string bongo about 6 months ago with a bucker and a piezo. sounded like a slice of bass heaven. not sure it's still in production since i couldn't find it then on the MM website, but it was one sweet ax. not short scale, but it didn't hurt my shoulder to play, which some long scales do.

It seems there isn't much choice out there, at least for basses still in production.

@kodiakblair , did all the Ergodyne basses have piezo and magnetic?

I found a couple for sale that are pretty cheap (200€) but are too far away to go look at them.

I don't think so brother :(

On a lighter note. Wishnevsky offers piezo and it wouldn't be a big deal to ask him about magnetic one. More good news is he'd build you a short scale 5 string. Steve's mellowed a bit these days so you might get frets too :D

Yamaha Patitucci Signature: For example TRB4P, TRB5P, TRB6P

The series I and II basses have piezos built into the bridge saddles.

You can find 5-strings, but they are not short scale or currently in production.

I believe the current Patitucci signature bass, TRBJP2, only comes in a 6-string and does not have the piezos in the bridge.
