Basses with wenge necks

Ive been looking at the FBB site last night and this morning. I really dig some of the Jive shaped basses. His price, as far as custom basses go, is quite affordable. Although i would have to save up for all of next summer and probably wouldnt have the bass for almost a year, i think if this is what i wanted, itd be worth it.

Just for giggles ive started to design an FBB bass in my head, and heres what ive come up with so far. (itd cost around $1650 probably.. :cringe:)

4 string fretted neckthrough
5 piece neck wenge/purpleheart/wenge/purpleheart
34" scale
Bartolini pickups , 2 M series soapbars , Bartolini preamp (not sure the benefits of 2 band or 3 band)
16" fingerboard radius
Wenge fingerboard
Body wood im thinking Bubinga
Top im thinking maybe flamed koa, paduak or bubinga pommele, havent really put too much thought into it.

I've got the wenge and purpleheart combo on my 8-string, it's really nice!
He did a great job on my figured Buckeye burl top too.

it's a good idea to spec them out like that, you can even photoshop some protos together, usually. Then he can guide you as to how that recipe would work together.

I have an mtd535 with wenge neck, here is a photo:

It has growl to spare :)
