i have 5 basses that i use.... and a few that were just aquired... that just sit in teh case until for some reason i do something with them.

Fender Pbass (my first bass)
Fender Dlx Jbass (my 2nd bass)
Fender Std Fretless jbass (my 3rd)
Mike Lull M5 (my 4th)
and my good ole trusty romanian upright w/ no name

all purchased over the past 11-12 yrs

these are the only basses I've ever had and I still have them and Use them all to this day.

I guess thats a good thing, in all 10 years of playing I have kept my gig money not blown it on gear that I was going to sell anyway. My advise is to buy smart and buy once.

been playing properly for about 6/7 months but i had the peavy for a year or so before hand.

That is a total of 28 basses and I have been playing for just over 6 months.
So that is 28 basses in just over 6 months. That would work out to 56 basses per year if things were to continue the way they have .... But I have to admit to having a bit of a problem. Things can not continue because I am running out of room and money and my wife is running our of patience.

Problem is I have 5 kids (and 3 of those kids are teenagers).
Every time a kid goes through a crisis I need to buy another bass.
Needless to say ... teenagers these days can go through a lot of problems.
Hope I can get a handle on my "extreme coping mechanism" soon!
(It's a good way I don't feel the same way about amps and speakers that I do about bass guitars ;-)
