Hi there. I considered to buy a bass, I thought about 3 basses: ibanez gar 200
Yamaha rbx170
Washburn t14
Witch if thoes I should choose?

I have a Yamaha rbx170 and it sucks. Within a month it's pickups had this annoying fuzz. The nut holds the g string way to close to the fretboard and it buzzes a lot.

Then get a Squier. Also, don't *think* about what bass to get...go to your local GC and try them out yourself! One man's trash is another man's treasure when it comes to asking people on the internet what you should buy. Hear it and see it and feel it for yourself...the bass, I mean.

I was low on budget when I started, bought an Ibanez GSR190. I did a couple of gigs with it, but had loads of trouble getting the right set-up. I must admit, I'm entirely self-taught though.

I still keep it as a back-up and it now has flatwounds to play with my dad's cover band (soft rock from the 60's to the 90's), and it works allright.

But... A friend of mine got his first bass recently, a squier Classic Vibe Jazz bass, for a bit more cash than the GSR190, and it was amazing! Awesome sound, great playability, a bass that will last for a long time!

However, the best advice that can be given, already has been: try try try! Try as many basses as you can (it's free, you know, trying a bass), and pick the one that FEELS right for you!!! Can never go wrong with that!

If you're going Ibanez - get an SR300 instead of the GSR200. It has an active 3band EQ which sounds superior ..... you'll be happy you did.

Not if you can afford Squier CV or Squier VM. The quality of those instruments approaches the quality of Fender MIM.

Yes, try them out for yourself. I've had a Yamaha and a Washburn but not those models. Mine are both good basses, I'd lean toward Yamaha. I'm not a big Ibanez fan and the 200s I seem to keep hearing that the electronics crap out after a while. But if you can stretch the budget to $300, get a vintage modified Squier. Or, go to rondo music and get an SX.

You've got a lot of choices. Shop wisely. Used will get you even more.
