Hey all, hoping someone can tell me who the man jamming with reggae/rocksteady guitar great Lynn Taitt might be. I thought maybe Jack Bruce - could it be true? Looking forward to yer thoughts, and happy Saturday -
Mike.

BTW I have no context at all for the photo - found it on Pinterest. Might get a membership and see if I can get the original poster to tell me. But from looking at pictures of the young Bruce, I think it's him. Sure would love to know how they got together.

Definitely not Jack(plus he didn’t use a Gibson until later in Cream…in his Graham Bond days he had a Teisco style P knock-off); the first person I thought of was Geno Washington’s bass player, a guy named Pete Carney…

…but I’m not so sure. GW was an American ex-GI/R&B vocalist who stayed in the UK and gained a following with the Mods and Northern Soul crowd. But upon looking up Taitt, I found that he spent his time in Canada, not Britain, so, someone notable in Toronto or Montreal?

I tried google-image searching it and only got to the Pinterest page. It says it was uploaded by the user (not shared from the internet), and looks like a picture of a page in a photo album. So I wonder if you could message the Pinterest user who uploaded it and see if they have any more information on it?

Thanks so much, people! Michedelic, I can absolutely see the resemblance to Pete Carney, just looked up some old Geno Washington & Ram Jam Band pics and I think it's possible. Taitt definitely spent time in England according to a bio I found online. He didn't move to Toronto until 1968, so I think you might have nailed it.

hrodbert696, I'm going to reach out to whoever posted the photo for sure, and am going to forward the photo to the guy who wrote the bio at tallawah.com. Meanwhile I hugely appreciate you guys' responses!

Heard back from the guy who did the bio of Lynn Taitt - he believes the pic was taken in 1967 during Prince Buster's tour of England. He thinks possibly that P.B. only brought Taitt as he was his arranger, and that the bass man might have been part of a pickup band hired for the tour. He's passed the pic on to a friend who might be able to make a positive ID. No reply from whoever posted the pic at Pinterest, alas. Will follow up if I learn anything more.
