Bassist/Singers?

Does anyone know of any well known bassist/singers? The only one I can recall at the moment is Les Claypool, of corse, but I was wondering how many there are. I've tried singing while playing bass, and it's hard as hell to do... er, i mean do WELL.

Jack Bruce from Cream and Roger Waters from Pink Floyd are two more I can think of. Although I'm not 100% on whether Jack Bruce sang on all the songs and I definitely know Waters didn't.

I agree that it's pretty hard to sing and play bass at the same time, but for me even being able to nail a little bit of backup vocals is pretty fulfilling.

EDIT: Darn, I took too long to post :(.

Mark King (Level 42), Jamie Reynolds (The Klaxxons), Keith Urban (in Sheryl Crow mode, but favours a P to her Guild), Richard Page (Mr Mister), Justin Curry (Del Amitri), etc.

Why joke about Kip? Play and sing "Seventeen" the way he does.

Why there was a big hate on Winger, I'll never know. Kip had a solid "rock and roll voice" for the music they were doing, and the Reb Beach and Rod Morgenstein were actually phenomenal musicians with impressive resumes. I guess some people though they were too commercial and they did come in on the tail end of the heavy metal days, but I actually thought they were underrated.

I don't recall any of his bass playing be that impressive, to be honest... even "Seventeen", from what I remembering in my head. But I guess the only reason I said jokingly because I don't think he fits in with the category of some of the names being thrown around, even though I still think the guy had talent. The same can probably be said of the other guy I mentioned, Jack Blades. I was a big Night Ranger fan, and to a lesser extent, The Damn Yankees. But Jack as a great bass player? Meh. I think those guys were better entertainers.

BTW, good call on the Benjamin Orr from the cars. I actually thought some of his solo stuff was pretty good. R.I.P. Ben.
