Hey Everyone!

I've been posting a 'Name That Tunes'-like series on FB and was wondering if anyone would be interested in it here. This is the one I posted for today. Let me know...

Happy Monday, 1st day of February, and !st day of Black History Month. The creator of this tune is no stranger to the Civil Rights Movement, and was instrumental in helping to establish a national holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, writing, Happy Birthday, in his honor. But this classic bassline comes from another tune, played by the legendary, Nathan Watts. Can you guess the tune and the artist?

It is very nice that you mentioned such a great and respected person as Martin Luther King. I really like his two quotes from Letter from the Birmingham Jail.
They sound like this:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. ”
And the second: "We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people."
They always make me think. And what do you think about this historically great person?
