Bassman 50

Is it a "Bassman 50" or a 50-watt "Bassman"? Either way, be aware that the model number indicated on the tube replacement diagram isn't necessarily the actual model of amplifier to which it is attached. Fender was pretty lax in that they continued to use old labels even though the circuit had been "updated".

Bassman 50, 50w at 4ohm rms is the sticker on the back

If it says Bassman 50 on the front control panel, it's built between '72 and '77; previously, they had been just "Bassman" and after that, they went to the ultra-linear, 70-watt circuit. It's likely to be the AA371 version, I think.

He’s saying it’s a 72. Says the tubes were replaced and a Hammond transformer $450

It looks pretty clean. I'm not an authority, but those don't appear to be the original knobs, which had black skirts with white numbers, IIRC. I don't think that price is out of line with the going rate, but the going rate is somewhat inflated by the gee-tar crowd -- they love 'em. Of course, with only 50 watts, it's pretty low-powered for a bass amp. But it's a classic.

I would cite the non-original knobs and missing badge to try to "Presbyterian" the seller down at least $50. $400-450 is pretty much the top going rate for a stock silver-faced Bassman around these parts.

I'd try to get some play on it- there aren't always what folks are expecting.

It's not a lot of power and has a very limited EQ.
Love it or hate it amp for many although I never tried outboard EQ with one.
