Basstardos

Saw this a few days ago because I follow Adrien Feraud. At first I couldn't believe my eyes, three bassists? But it works so well since they all play different roles. I was particularly engrossed by the chordal playing, because I'm getting my feet wet in that regard.
Absolutely! It's evident that all three are great musicians who are bass players. I honestly don't think I've heard any bass duo/trio take things to that level of fluidity between the bass parts, chordal harmonies, and melodic parts. All three were moving or rotating through those roles with complete mastery.

Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey did Bass Extremes back in the day, often having guests like John Patitucci, Anthony Jackson, Will Lee, Otiel Burbridge, and many others. There was also Dave Pomeroy's All Bass Orchestra, which was a lot of fun, but more of a novelty. Of course, SVM was a bass-trio supergroup. I think this Basstardos thing is a step above, though.
