Battery problems

In my active bass, the negative lead came out of the snap connector. I purchased new ones from the shack, and the negative lead is not long enough to get to the output Jack, which is where it's supposed to go. Can I just solder the wires together and electrical tape them together?

Just don't make it a big gobby joint. Heavy, over large solder joints will act like an inline resistor and can generate heat in a system so make it some clean butt joints and use shrink. It's one and done, no coming lose (or off) in the future and is available in a wide range of sizes at your local hobby shop.
